Harvest Moon

AUTUMN
Thou comest, Autumn, heralded by the rain,
With banners, by great gales incessant fanned,
Brighter than brightest silks of Samarcand,
And stately oxen harnessed to thy wain!
Thou standest, like imperial Charlemagne,
Upon thy bridge of gold; thy royal hand
Outstretched with benedictions o'er the land,
Blessing the farms through all thy vast domain!
Thy shield is the red harvest moon, suspended
So long beneath the heaven's o'er-hanging eaves;
Thy steps are by the farmer's prayers attended;
Like flames upon an altar shine the sheaves;
And, following thee, in thy ovation splendid,
Thine almoner, the wind, scatters the golden leaves!

Journey towards Tranquility

Wordle: Meditation

"Be like the sun for grace and mercy. Be like the night to cover
others' faults. Be like running water for generosity. Be like death for
rage and anger. Be like the Earth for modesty. Appear as you are. Be as
you appear."

Jamaican Me Crazy!

“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality . Wake Up and Live!”
~Bob Marley

Sting - Desert Rose

...and the CLIO goes to....

"Havianas Nest" 2010 Clio Arard Winner: Gold in Print

Haviana's Nest Campaign!

The branding of this flip flop is brilliant...who knew a plastic pair of thongs could be so glamorous? The whimsical design caught my eye instantly, the exotic collage of floara and fauna exudes summer!

I especially love the Indian-inspired collection, complete with, warm colors, metallics, paisley and elephants!

Viewing the world through a Kaleidoscope!

I have always seen things from many lenses, multiculturalism personified!
I'm an American girl with strong Persian traditions, surrounded by diversity & sometimes lost in translation. Nothing is ever black & white...
I am inspired and driven by colors...the vibrant hues that exist only in nature or the stark contrast of one color against another...they make me stop and admire.

Among my favorite childhood memories, is the day I made a DIY Kaleidoscope during a Girl Scout meeting...
We were instructed to bring in broken or mismatched crayons (the staple in any kids art box).
We then broke them into little pieces, placed them between two layers of parchment paper and ironed the paper with the help of our troop leader! As I watched the colors melt together...I had my first HueGASM! It was magical...I thought of the endless combination of colors I could put together and wondered if I could convince my mom to buy me brand new crayons just to melt them...A cardboard papertowel roll & a rubber band finished the project! The mini entrepreneur in me thought maybe I could sell kaleidoscopes on the side!
